REVOPOINT / How-to & tips
A small feature can agree with a reference while a longer assembly still needs checking. As the capture extends across a workpiece, positioning, alignment and the relationship between distant features become important to the final dimensional result.
This is a different question from whether a point cloud is dense or a repeated reading looks consistent. Revopoint's volumetric-accuracy explainer and its original Trackit ball-bar demonstration offer a way to think about the scope of a validation exercise. They do not provide independent certification of a customer's future scans.

Make the check relevant to the whole task
Start by identifying the relationships that determine whether the result is usable. A local recess and the separation between distant mounting features are not the same measurement question. A check spanning a useful portion of the work can reveal something a small isolated detail cannot.
Select a suitable reference with known dimensions and a method capable of answering the question. Document its condition, how it is positioned and what the comparison covers. Passing that comparison says something about the evaluated relationship; it does not automatically establish all dimensions or every surface.
Read the supplier's ball-bar exercise in context

Revopoint describes a ball bar whose reference length had been established using a coordinate measuring machine. The original Trackit was used to capture it in X, Y and Z orientations, and the separation between the sphere centres was evaluated in Geomagic Wrap.
The supplier reports that each orientation satisfied its stated specification. That is the reported conclusion of this particular demonstration. It is not a Creality AU test, a Trackit SR result or evidence that a different operator, environment and workpiece will produce the same outcome.
Ask what the test arrangement includes

A useful record should let the reader understand the reference, capture arrangement and later calculation. Ask which software and processing settings were used, how the relevant features were identified and whether the check represents the way the equipment will be used.
Those questions matter when comparing demonstrations. Results from different reference lengths, orientations or processing methods may answer different questions. Avoid selecting the most favourable image and treating it as a complete account of performance. Preserve the source record alongside any summary you make.
Keep verification separate from the sales specification
For your own work, define the required comparison before scanning and record the outcome, including limitations. Retain the reference information, units, raw project and relevant processing choices so another person can understand what was actually checked.
Use an appropriate independent measurement method when an incorrect dimension has significant consequences. Software can help organise analysis and reporting, but neither a colour map nor a successful reference scan removes the need for a suitable acceptance process. The scope of the evidence should remain visible.
